Message from the Chairman

It gives me boundless pleasure while scribbling few words about my organisation, PRAGATI, KORAPUT, which has become a torch bearer of rural development dynamics.
       The report briefly touches various programmes that the organisation is successfully implementing with the generous assistance from different funding agencies, State and Central Government. In fact, the key for this pouring support lies firmly in organization’s successful initiatives, that it takes up in its action areas i.e. mostly different community development blocks of Koraput district. The LIFE (Livelihood Improvement for Empowerment of Women Youth) project with the financial and technical support from Dalyan Foundation, a Switzerland based funding agency is working with 2000 women youth and 500 male youth in the first phase. This new initiative will bring a world of good in the action area. Work in rice fallow area is another praiseworthy intervention where 250 hectares of sunflower and 5000 hectares of pulses are being implemented. In social sector, The Dewan Foundation and Pragati are doing innumerable initiative in the area like poultry, goatary, piggery and scores other. The research project on seed system is another shining example of diversified activities. The six number of Farmers’ Producer Companies are marching ahead. In fact, one of these six companies, Jaivik SRI, is now harping on exporting the agricultural produce like organic ginger, coffee, millet, etc. The Nexus of Good Award, 2022 conferred on Pragati mostly for climate smart agriculture is another feather tagged to the organization.
       Pragati family deserves commendation for making the organisation internationally visible for achieving such awards. I, as the Chairman of Pragati, Koraput feel proud for the organisation having a rising success curve. I congratulate all the members of the Pragati family for contributing their might in making the organisation achieve a standout success.
